Over the next decade, the decisions made by the Contra Costa Water District will shape our community’s water security and economic vitality for generations.
The single largest decision ahead is the Contra Costa Canal Replacement Project. Nearly 50 miles of open canal currently deliver untreated water from the Delta to the treatment plants serving over 500,000 residents. Enclosing and modernizing this system is a multi-year, multi-hundred-million-dollar commitment.
How effectively this mega-project is managed directly impacts every ratepayer’s bill.

Am I in Division 2?
Most people have no idea which water district division they live in. Here is how to check in about a minute.
Division 2 covers four communities
Contra Costa Water District Division 2 covers portions of Pleasant Hill, Martinez, Port Costa, and Concord. Because it is only part of each community, the District’s own division map is the way to be certain your address is in Division 2.
Confirm your address and registration
The district’s division map has an address search that names the Director for any address in the service area. Once you have confirmed you are in Division 2, make sure you are registered at your current address — you can register or update your record with the California Secretary of State.
